Busy busy

This is a baby blanket I made from an Italian yarn, for Donna's baby Emma.  I didn't know at the time whether the baby would be a girl or boy so had to make a blanket that would suit either.
Have made so many more things but find know that I haven't taken pics so will do that and load soon.  Have been busy with renovations so this has taken a back seat unfortunately!

It's been so long

The school holidays have come and gone and exams are near for the boys.  I have been very busy with various projects, here are just a couple.  A few more are still in progress stage.
I got so over a cold neck and scarves are super for outside etc but I wanted something warm against my skin so I made this nect warmer.  The top part can fold down or come up to under my chin, it's made partly from lambswool so is very warm.

This is a scarf for a friend whose birthday is some time away but I am very happy with the results so wanted to post these pics.  It is a Jo Sharp alpaca mix so is just slightly fuzzy without being itchy.

A current project

This is a wrap I started this week, using Claudia handpainted yarn in worsted weight, Mudslide colour.  It's quite a quick project as it uses trebles and double trebles, thought the neutral sort of colours would be useful in a wrap/shawl in winter.

Two finished items

This is the green scarf I started some time ago and finally finished (just in time for autumn) last week.

This is the Fleece Artist scarf I also finished last week, just love the colours and the silk in this fibre!

Blanket for Anna's baby

This is crocheted in Cleckheaton's Fiddle-de-dee which is a 100% cotton yarn although I can't find any details about it anywhere so I think it's discontinued.  It makes up so quickly.  This blanket was just crochet in half trebble al the way with a double crochet border, very simple but I think the yarn does the work. I have about 4 balls left over to make something else with - maybe some wash cloths?  Not sure.

Some small things

This is a small container or pouch in the shape of a mushroom, made from Bendigo Woollen Mills wool.  I thought it might make a cute emergency sewing kit but the weight of the cap is quite heavy so I may need to line it with some interfacing and material to support the walls a bit.

This is a newborn baby hat with earflaps, the colour is the palest mint.  It's the most beautiful wool - a 90% extrafine merino and 10% cashmere baby wool from Filatura di Crosa - I totally love their stuff, it's so nice to use.

Rug project

A quick post before going out in the heatwave day.  This is what I started last week - Patons Wilderness wool - very thick and chunky and worked in 2 strands so extra hot.  Needless to say I haven't worked on it this week.  I bought 3 balls of it from the cheapie bin at the local craft shop but have since found out it's a new release wool so luckily I was able to buy 3 more balls to finish the project.  It's actually a star shaped rug - will show the finished product when done.
